Farr's Hill
Ashby, MA

1949-1951

Thanks to Oiva Anderson, we now know of this ski area. Here are the details:

"Farr Hill was an 800ft. rope tow in Ashby MA. It was set up by four of us lab engineers at MIT. It operated for three years in the period '49 to'51 and enjoyed some success until the group had to disperse because of new employments out of the area. It had a good eastern exposure and had a very nice warming hut where hot-dogs, hamburgers, coffee were served by my wife. Fond memories of trying to start an old truck tow engine and of breaking out the slope by side-stepping. "

Does anybody else remember skiing here?
