George Abbott has
a bit more information: This was a private tow in Bill and Bea Freys backyard.
Their property was located off South Street and the tow ran down the hill behind
their house. I can remember skiing there with my children in the mid 60s. I
also spoke to Bea Frey about the rope tow they had in their back yard.
Apparently they had the tow for a couple of years before Massachusetts State
found out about it. An inspector appeared at their door one day , and handed
them a very thick book of regulations. That was the end of their backyard ski
lift!
