Baldate Ski Club
Crown Point, NY
c
1950's

Thanks to Clark Burrows, we now know of this area that operated in Crown Point:

In Crown Point, NY, there was a ski area known as the Baldpate Ski Club in the Ironville section of town. It consisted of a large main slope and a side trail to the left (looking up the hill) served by a long rope tow, driven by the classic old pickup truck setup from that era. A second tow section extended above the first. There was also a separate beginner's slope with its own tow.

The lodge was a rustic A frame with an expanded lower area. I think I recall that an all day ticket was $1 in the mid '50s, but members were required to pack a full-length track up or down the hill when grooming was necessary.

If you have more information on this area just let us know.
