Introduction

Thanks to Peter Alban, we now know about this lost area in Plattsburgh:

"I was just shown a small ski hill  on the old air force base in Plattsburgh NY. The area is located on a hill next to the bases golf course which is still in use, however the ski hill is now used to store railroad tracks, old cars, and golf carts in the winter. The old rope tow towers, lights, and top lift shack are still there as well as the old truck used to power the lift. I would say it is around 150 vertical feet."

To the right is an aerial view of the slope. Note that it is quite small. Google Earth estimates the vertical to be just 2 feet! That's not correct though, it appears to be around 100 feet. The tow is about 500 feet long.
