Schroon Lake Ski Area
Schroon Lake, NY
Late 1940's-?

According to a circa 1948 Ski New York guide, this area was operated as a "youth project" on the Hoffman Road to Minerva in Schroon Lake. There was bus service to the area. The skiing was free, and was open weekends and holidays only. A 1000' tow served a 1500' long slope. Little else is known.

I did some searching on Terrasever, and lo and behold found a "Ski Tow Road" a few miles west of Schroon Lake off the Hoffman Road. I can not detect ski trails in the image on the left. This area was almost certainly not the now reopened Schroon Lake Ski Center.
