Chapman Hill
Williston Ski Associates
Williston, VT

Originally we thought this area might be lost, but its actually still in operation. Dave Bouchard sends in the following information telling NELSAP how the area operates:

A quick note that the Williston/Chapman ski hill in Northern VT is not a lost ski area. It is still in operation. As a matter of fact I was helping with the counter weight system on the rope tow this past Sat. I have skied their quite a bit over the past few years. There is a limit of 25 family members that can sign up according to the charter. There is a great mix of old and young blood making this private operation remain operable.

Thanks to Andy Dufresne, we have a photo of this area. You can see the rope tow on the far right and a base building.

The area as it appeared around 1973. Thanks to Betsy McDonough, who found it in "Look Around Essex and Williston, Vermont" Chittenden County Historical Society Heritage Series, c 1973.
