Sari Pul
10 Miles South of Kabul
?-Soviet invasion of 1979

Here's a first! Thanks to Chris Vaccaro (a good friend of mine who works at USA Today), we now know of this former ski area that operated 10 miles south of Kabul. According to an article which appeared in USA Today on October 26, this area had a rope tow which served a steep, short slope. A Chrysler engine helped power the area.

Unfortunately, the area closed when the Soviet Union invaded the country in 1979. I'm sure there's nothing left today...and I know for a fact nobody will be doing any recon trips to find out!
